Lash Out *Review of Smashbox X-Rated Mascara

Hello beauties. I am always excited to share a review of a product I have found beneficial in my beauty routine. Let me start by saying I have very short eyelashes and because of that I wear false lashes most of the time. I have tried many mascaras to try and enhance my lashes. I have been using Loreal Telescopic mascara and it works pretty well. Last month I recieved Smashbox X-Rated mascara in my ipsy glam bag. I wasn’t over the moon about it and was reluctant about using it. I am a big fan of Smashbox products so I decided to give it a whirl.

First impression:

I am used to a brush with its tight short bristles so I was sceptical about the wider, longer bristles. Surprisingly this brush adds length and fullness.

I have sensitive eyes so many mascaras irritate them. No irritation upon application.

Some mascaras clump when you add multiple applications. I found no clumping with X-Rated mascara.

Some mascaras do not work well with false lashes. X-Rated mascara added fullness to the base of the lashes which helps make them look more natural.

What does Smashbox have to say:

  • Go from dramatic and defined to over-the-top, obscene volume—layer by layer.
  • Our breakthrough triple threat brush isolates, magnifies and mega-coats each lash with an interlocking fiber-loaded formula that never flakes or smudges.
  • Hyper thick, voluptuous lashes that photograph flawlessly in any close-up.
  • Our Triple Threat brush features three deep channels for mega-coating lashes and three rows of bristles that isolate, amplify and extend each lash. Tripod fibers twist and wrap around each lash, creating insane volume.

*I have to agree with their statements. I am very pleased with X-Rated Mascara.

Line with Ease *Review of Vasanti Waterline Eyeliner

Hello Beauties, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. What better way to start the week than with a review of a wonderful product! I received Vasanti Waterline Eyeliner in my Ipsy June GlamBag and I am excited to be able to review this product for you. First let me start by saying not all liners are the same. Over the years I have tried from expensive to very budget friendly. There are good and not so good in both categories. When purchasing an eyeliner I like to go for one that is creamy and glides on smoothly. Recently I have been using liquid liner due to the fact of its application. I have to be careful with pencil type liners because as we mature the skin around our eyes tend to be more sensitive. With that being said let’s get to the review.

What are the things I like about Vasanti Waterline Eyeliner.

  • It goes on creamy
  • It is a matte finish
  • No need for a sharpener just twist
  • Intense color
  • Easy application
  • Safe for sensitive eye areas

When applying the eyeliner it goes on like a dream. I did not have an issue with it smudging. It works wonderfully for thin lines. It is long lasting with out smearing or wearing off.

The only thing is with any pencil eyeliner it doesn’t keep a sharp point so you do have to sharpen especially if you are wanting precision wings. I don’t mind that little detail when it is such a wonderful product to work with.

Here is what Vasanti has to say about thier product:

  • Gives you a defined, natural look that makes lashes appear fuller and longer while brightening your eyes for a youthful but polished gaze
  • Uses a creamy, easy glide formula that offers one-stroke color and a velvety matte finish that lasts all day on the wet rims of your eyes
  • Safe to use on delicate eye areas
  • Paraben free
  • Vegan friendly
  • Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested and approved
  • Made in Germany
  • Never tested on animals

*I love the fact it is tested and approved by Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist, paraben free and never tested on animals.

How do you accomplish a fuller and longer lash look? Make sure your liner has a sharp point, and line the eye with a thin line. This will give your lashes a longer fuller look.

Vasanti has a full line of beauty products. Take some time and check them out. For my Canadian viewers Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall carry Vasanti. You can also check their website out, just click –> Vasanti

O Honey

Hello beauties. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Mine has been pretty good so far. The weather is warmer and it has been wonderful to enjoy being outdoors.

With the changing weather we must think about our skin. One of my favorite beauty secrets is honey! Ok ok so honey isn’t a secret, but do you know about the benefits of honey for your skin?

  • It can help with acne. Honey is a natural antibacterial.
  • It is packed with antioxidants, which helps to slow down the aging process.
  • It is soothing and moisturizing and helps with you have glowing skin.
  • It opens your pores.

How to use honey? There are many ways to add honey to your facial routine.

  • Honey and sugar scrub. I love this scrub! It exfoliates and leaves the skin soft.
  • Honey mask. For this you need raw honey. Apply to moistened skin and allow to sit for 30 mins. Rinse it of with lukewarm water.
  • Milk and honey. There is two ways you can use milk and honey for your skin. First is in a bath. It will leave your skin soft and radiant. Add 1 to 2 cups milk and 1/2 cup honey to your bath water. Second milk and honey mask. 1 tablespoon honey and just a few drops of milk, you want it to be the consistency of paste. Apply to your face and let sit for 30 mins. Rinse with lukewarm water. This mask is amazing!

There are many other ways to add honey to your daily beauty routine. I wanted to give you some of the ways I use honey.

Retailer of interest is Hey Honey. They have some wonderful products! They have several products that are on my wish list.

I hope this post has been helpful. If you have a favorite way to use honey in your beauty routine please let me know, I always enjoy learning something new. Let’s keep in touch on social media.

Have a wonderful weekend

Confidently Beautiful

Today I would like to talk about confidence. Some people are born with confidence and some people have to learn how to be confident. To me there is nothing more beautiful than to see someone that holds their head high and walks in the knowledge they are worthy. I am not talking about arrogance, I am talking about the self awareness of the beauty and importance one poses.
When I say beauty, beauty is not just about an outward appearance. Beauty is the whole package. It consists of how we present ourselves.

Life has many facets and as we live we grow in our knowledge of perception. Confidence is a perception of ones outlook of themselves. So how do we strengthen our perception of ourselves?

First…we should realize there is no such thing as ideal beauty. Beauty comes in many forms! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have known some outwardly beautiful people, but their beauty was an illusion.

Second…beauty can not be defined. Sure society has its opinions on what is beautiful, everyone has an opinion. A key is not to let an opinion have an effect on your persona.

Confidence is unique. Some of the hottest trends have taken confidence to step out and show the world a new way of doing things. Of course there is going to be those who have negative things to say. Just remember don’t let negativity take root and allow self doubt.

Third..this may seem silly, but to build confidence one must love them self. How does one love them self? It begins when you realize how special you are. You have a purpose and a plan. You may not know it yet, but you are capable of great things.

Each day look into the mirror and tell yourself “I am beautiful/handsome” “I have been uniquely made and have a purpose and a plan”. Learn to encourage yourself.

Much love to each of you and I hope that this post has been words of encouragement. I hope you have a wonderful week and see yourselves as beautiful and worthy. Let’s keep in touch follow me on Instagram for looks of the day. Feel free to re post if you have found this post helpful.
