Winged Eyeliner…Tape It

Look at that wing! How do I get wings so sharp they could cut? Watch the video 😉

Hello loves. Do you struggle with winged liner? I did….most of the time my wings were lopsided or just disastrous!

I watched multiple videos and I tried using pencil liner, felt tip liner and liquid liner with no avail.

I stumbled across a tip awhile back that using tape helps with making a beautiful wing.  Tape has become my new friend. It definitely helps provide te perfect boundary and guide for your winged liner. So I decided to make a video to share with you on how I use tapefor my winged eyeliner.

As you can see it is quite simple. The Brush I am using to apply the eyeliner is by SimpleGlamGirls these oval brushes have made a world of difference in my makeup application. Use my code bellamj74 to receive 20% off your purchase.

Mr. Right (Now) Eyeliner *Review of The Balm Cosmetics Mr. Right (Now) Eyeliner

Hello Beauties. I hope you have had a wonderful week. The weather has been warm here in Canada and I have been enjoying time by the pool. Today I am going to review Mr. Write (Now) eyeliner by The Balm Cosmetics. The shade is Jac B Bronzer. I received this product in an Ipsy Glam Bag awhile back. I was not super enthused over it so it went into my beauty vault and I hadn’t thought about it since, until today…..

Since it is not a color I would normally wear on my eyes I had not given it a try. Well today I wanted to try a new look. Into my beauty vault I went and low and behold there was Mr. Write, the wheels started turning and voila an idea emerged.

I try to think outside the box when it comes to makeup. I like to experiment and use products in different ways. Today I did just that. I decided to line my lips with Mr. Write and used Dirty Little Secret highlighter to fill in. It was instant LOVE!

Mr. Write has stay power. I did not have to reapply it through the day. The application is smooth and it doesn’t smudge. I am now seeing Mr. Write in a whole new light!

What does The Balm have to say:

Get ready to meet Mr. Write (Now), a collection of charming eyeliners that are truly easy on the eyes. With high payoff, eight wearable shades and satin smooth texture, we can’t blame you if your eyes wander- but rest assured, your eyeliner wont! These pencils deliver the long-lasting color you’ve been looking for, and have built in sharpeners so they are always ready when you are.

I would say that is a pretty good description and at $17 usd it is worth trying. Here are the other colors offered.

Eyes on Fire *Review of Urban Decay Fireball Eyeshadow

Hello Beauties. I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far. Just a tip *With the temperature rising remember to drink lots of water, it is vital for your skins health. Let’s get to Urban Decay Fireball eyeshadow. I have been a huge fan of Urban Decay for a few years now. I love the pigment of their eyeshadows. What is pigments…pigments are fine, loose powder, they are usually shimmery, but can be matte as well. Pigments are the main ingredient in eyeshadow.

I received a sample of Urban Decay Fireball in my June Ipsy Glam Bag, needless to say I was very excited. I love the color, it is peach with a pink shift. This shade is available in a single at $19. Urban Decay Is well known for its multifaceted color. Here is what they have to say:

  • Even softer, amazingly velvety texture
  • Richer, more dense and decadent color
  • Smoother, more uniform pigment distribution and blendability
  • Longer-lasting, more crease-free wear

I agree completely. As with their other eyeshadows this shadow goes on smoothly and is long lasting. I love how it blends well with other shades and it can be subtle or bold.

I love makeup and when I come across a color or brand that makes an impression I love to share it. For me Urban Decay Fireball is a beautiful color to work with. *if you have blue eyes this is a color you must try!!

For this look I used Fireball on my eyes and also dusted my lip color with it.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Have a wonderful week. Let’s keep in touch you can follow me on Instagram for makeup looks.

Lash Out *Review of Smashbox X-Rated Mascara

Hello beauties. I am always excited to share a review of a product I have found beneficial in my beauty routine. Let me start by saying I have very short eyelashes and because of that I wear false lashes most of the time. I have tried many mascaras to try and enhance my lashes. I have been using Loreal Telescopic mascara and it works pretty well. Last month I recieved Smashbox X-Rated mascara in my ipsy glam bag. I wasn’t over the moon about it and was reluctant about using it. I am a big fan of Smashbox products so I decided to give it a whirl.

First impression:

I am used to a brush with its tight short bristles so I was sceptical about the wider, longer bristles. Surprisingly this brush adds length and fullness.

I have sensitive eyes so many mascaras irritate them. No irritation upon application.

Some mascaras clump when you add multiple applications. I found no clumping with X-Rated mascara.

Some mascaras do not work well with false lashes. X-Rated mascara added fullness to the base of the lashes which helps make them look more natural.

What does Smashbox have to say:

  • Go from dramatic and defined to over-the-top, obscene volume—layer by layer.
  • Our breakthrough triple threat brush isolates, magnifies and mega-coats each lash with an interlocking fiber-loaded formula that never flakes or smudges.
  • Hyper thick, voluptuous lashes that photograph flawlessly in any close-up.
  • Our Triple Threat brush features three deep channels for mega-coating lashes and three rows of bristles that isolate, amplify and extend each lash. Tripod fibers twist and wrap around each lash, creating insane volume.

*I have to agree with their statements. I am very pleased with X-Rated Mascara.

Fallen Leaves * Review of City Color Eyeshadow Trio*

Hello all of you stunning beauties! I hope your week is going wonderfully, it has been a beautiful week and I have been enjoying the warmer weather.

Today I am going to review City Color Eyeshadow Trio in Fallen Leaves. I received this eyeshadow trio in a previous Ipsy GlamBag. To be honest when I first received it I wasn’t overly excited about it. I thought ok hmmm fall colours, not something I am interested in at this moment, but I decided to try them out. Don’t let the name fool you this trio is wonderful for all seasons.

I am so glad I didn’t wait till cooler weather to experiment with this eyeshadow trio. The brown in this trio is stunning.  It has a shimmery coppery affect, quite lovely. The colours complement each other wonderfully and look amazing on blue eyes. I cannot say how they look on other eye colours because my eyes are blue.

The pigmentation is very nice and it is long lasting. One application is all you need. At $5.00 this eyeshadow is budget friendly and is an absolute beauty bargain!  They offer two shade selections in this eyeshadow trio: Fallen Leaves and Blooming Flowers.

Here is what the company states:

City Color Eyeshadow Trio features three complimentary shades in one travel-friendly palette.

Available in limited quantities, these exclusive palettes are only available to subscribers of the ipsy GlamBag for January 2016 and directly from Collect both palettes for every day wear!

I agree with what the company has said. The packaging is compact so it can be added to your carry along makeup bag for when you are on the go, and it seals nicely so no worries about it opening.

The colors are complementary and can be used for everyday wear.

You can view this shadow along with the whole line of products at City Color Cosmetics

Blushing Time *Review of Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks blush*

Hello you radiant beauties. Today I would like to talk to you about Elizabeth Mott cosmetics Blush.

I received the blush in my ipsy bag a month or so ago and it has quickly become my go to blush. It is so versatile. I can use it for a more natural look or a bolder look.  It blends beautifully, well pigmented and lasts all day.

Application is easy. It goes on smooth and evenly. The color I have is Peach Pink and it is a lovely shade. It is well complemented with contouring and gives your cheeks a beautiful glow.

The company states:

  • It is long lasting. I agree, I have never had to touch it up.
  • The color is bold, but not over-powering, again I agree. You can apply it for a subtle natural look or play it up more for a bolder look.
  • Defines your cheekbone. Yes it does and especially when you couple it with contouring.

At $23 it is a good value due to the fact it is long lasting and does not need to be touched-up.

All in all I say this is a beauty YAY.

I hope you enjoyed this post. For more information about Elizabeth Mott Cosmetics view their website at Elizabeth Mott Cosmetics

The Power of Nude *Review of BellĂĄPierre Cosmetics Nude Gel Lip Liner Pencil*

I received BellaPierre Cosmetics Nude Gel Lip Liner Pencil in my May Ipsy Glam Bag and I am not one that does nude looks very often so I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a beauty Yay for me.

Let me start of by saying I was pleased it was a full size lip liner. The retail value of the full size is $18.00, so it was a beauty savings to receive this product in my glam bag.

My May Glam Bag from Ipsy

I was pleased with the color it is a subtle yet noticeable color. Some nudes are so light they are barely detectable.  Since it is a gel liner it glides on smoothly which is always nice. It can be sharpened with any sharpener. It is long lasting and is versatile; you can use this color with different shades for your own unique look.

The company states it is *Formulated with pure minerals, natural waxes, and antioxidants, these are hypoallergenic and safe for all skin types.  I like the fact it’s made with more natural ingredients, this is always beneficial for your skin.

About the website…There are some sites out there that how shall I say, a bit less desirable when it comes to navigation. BellaPierre has a user friendly site with easy navigation. It also offers international sites which is always nice for those of us who are not located in the States.

All in all I am very pleased I received this product in the May GlamBag. If you haven’t tried Ipsy click the link and discover beauty finds waiting for you. Ipsy
